31 licensed buildings in Shelby, Fayette and Tipton counties report secured or Alzheimer's beds to Tennessee's Health Facilities Commission: 24 assisted-care living facilities with 774 secured beds and 7 nursing homes with 464 secured or Alzheimer's beds.

Why use the state bed report to find memory care?

Because Tennessee has no memory care license, the secured-bed count each licensed building reports to the state is the only official evidence that a locked unit exists; marketing language alone carries no legal meaning.
